Tab 2 vs Donington Aluminum Gas Tanks differences

Have you ever considered Evan Wilcox?
He made hand made aluminum tanks for Kenny Dreer
Evan just made an exhaust, fly screen and changed an oil tank for us on an early commando project. If you go to his Instagram you will see a recent project he just did for us. His work is amazing (costs are commensurate with his skills) so much so that he is scheduled out 12-18 months.

Obviously a true craftsman CG - awesome to see! Interesting bloke too. Old article but worth a quick read.

Yep. Another craftsman is Ron Covell
Many are out there.
I grew up in the custom sheet metal fabrication business, my dad owned and operated his own body and fabrication shop for 45 years.
I took more interest in the mechanics side of things. As I got older I wish I followed his footsteps and learned more of the sheet metal work.

Still have all his tools and machines (pullmax, planishing hammers, shears, breaks, rollers etc)
Not very often that I ever use any of them today.

You guys in the UK and Europe are the originators of the art. It’s a shame it’s a fading art form.

What really sucks is that in todays public schools, they seem to of completely did away with all of the shop classes.
When I was in junior high and high school, they had wood shop, metal shop, auto shop. I took them all.
As I mentioned I grew up in that industry.

Not so true today in many schools.
It’s a sad thing to take away a skilled trade.
Some people look down on the blue collar workers. Without them, the world wouldn’t survive.

It always rubbed me the wrong way that the school and college systems always focused on the athletic side of things. Money and greed.

Hi Voodooo , I missed the opportunity to meet you during the Michigan INOA rally . This was when I took my trip to Ontario to visit the Coote's . I thought us meeting up with some photos of our bikes would have been real sweet. A great addition to the pictures of your 961 thread. I don't live up in Wisconsin anymore so it will be more difficult now , but still possible .
