Stripping powder coating

Folks,

I want to strip some very thick and robust 40+ year old powder coating from an alloy head.

I want to get it totally clean, right down in every nook and cranny.

25-30 years ago this was easy, just use Nitromorse. But powder coat just laughs at this shit today!

Can anyone recommend a pro outfit in the uk that can strip such a head to an ‘as cast’ finish?

Damn FE, I don't live in UK, but why don't you ask one of your local powder coaters? They should know.????

There are many types of powder coat, as many as there are paints, the chemical to get it off needs to match the power coat type. The old Nitromors that works used methylene chloride in a gel, you can still buy methylene chloride but a few hoops will be put in your way and it won't be a gel.

There is a lad in UK that uses DCM to strip all kinds of metal finishes. Its Matthew Hudson from the now defunct YouTube Channel The Workshop. He can be reached on his Facebook page and does do this type of thing for his followers. EDIT: He is currently on a euro mc tour...been watching The Doghouse channel of their adventures.
