The 1971 brochure clearly shows the centerstand on the SS with the same "S" shaped foot pedal as the Roadster. The 1971 parts manual shows only one centerstand part number (062192) for all models.
My friend's SS also has a standard style centerstand and it is original and unrestored. Although it would have been feasible that it was replaced at some time.
I see the brochure has it so my theory might be incorrect. I will take a closer look at my SS tomorrow, the fish hook / S pedal may have been cut off. Or a later stand fitted.
Hi.
My SS is all stock and the center stand is the same of Roadster one.
In the brochure there is the hook as you say. http://www.motos-anglaises.com/catalogu ... ancais.pdf
Without hook is very difficult to stand up the bike, like early 1968/70 center stand does.
Ciao
Piero
If you put your foot on the top of that pad on the 69/70 center stand, it helps, but not much. Don't put your toe under it, don't ask how I know. It also helps to run the front tire up on a board if available.
