I'd left N-V to emigrate to the US before the Commando was offered in the Metric market. I suspect that a different indicator was used with metric gearing, so that the speedometer and odometer would register the appropriate information, without the need to cbange the source data. A change to the speedo scale on the mph instrument would be simple, but the odometer would be a bigger problem.

As far as the actual gauge is concerned it was just a change of scale on the dial face, MPH instruments reading to 150, and the km/h unit to 240, the odometers are geared to register +1 unit every 1000 cable turns for the MPH instrument, and 600 for km/h, as all Commandos had the same 1.25:1 (15/12) drive gearbox ratio.
