Wish to know the actual Smith's speedometer part number (not the Norton part number) that was put on the Interpol bikes. It was a Chronometric as far as I know. Did they eventually use a magnetic?
Most Chronos use a 2:1 drive but the parts book shows the speedo head different from the others but the gearbox seems not
to be mentioned (or did I miss it?).

I posted the speedo drive info before.

Try a BSA B25/B44 2:1 speedo drive BG5330/31, they have the same axle size as the 1970 B44 VS. The 15:12 drive for the late B44 VS uses the same speedo drive as the Commando BG5330/171.

Thank you. Looks to me that the difference is what point on the face does zero get placed
and the rest of the clock likely same. That is compared to the more common zero placed
at one o'clock.

A Chrono rebuilder should be able to take a 1 o clock 120mph chrono and make it a 7 o clock 120 mph as the total milage and the trip milage seem to be in the same place for both types. The face will need changing and the needle repositioned plus any stops and no doubt some other items.

My bike was an Interplod and had a Chronometric speedo. The first marking was 10mph, this was at the 7 o/c position, and the needle tested just below the 10mph marking. 30mph was at the 9 o/c position and there was a white line from the centre of the speedo to the 30mph marking.

There is a number 5301/44 on the speedo face, but on my picture the letters preceding it are obscured by the speedo needle.
