Subject: HISTORICAL MOTORCYCLE EXHIBITION RACE - Willow Springs Re-Imagined SAT OCT 17
Howdy racers!
I have been tasked with putting together 12-20 vintage & classic racing motorcycles for an exhibition race at Big Willow for part of Willow Springs Re-Imagined event happening on Saturday October 17th. Over 10,000 spectators are expected to participate in the afternoon celebrating the track and the racing vehicles that shaped its history.
Selected candidates will need to have one heck of a cool racing motorcycle and current racing license under a professional racing organization. I will be leaning towards selecting vintage superbikes of the late 70s & early 80s as well as next generation racers of the late 80s and early 90s. Vintage bikes of the late 60s & early 70s will also be considered if they are of large displacement to keep up with the more modern bikes.
Racers will be allowed to load in Thursday evening, but no later than noon on Friday as there will be up to at least (3) 30 minute practice sessions on Friday. Saturday morning there will be a "qualifying" race with the main exhibition race happening in the afternoon. This race will be in addition to four other exhibition races featuring fancy & historical automobiles. It will be one heck of an afternoon celebrating Willow Springs & the history of going fast.
Those selected to participate will get a free entry plus one for a crew member. There will be a paddock area designated for the motorcycle racers as well as a special hospitality area to take advantage of. There will even be a podium ceremony post race! This is a rare & extraordinary opportunity for the selected racers.
If you have a racing license and a gorgeous motorcycle that fits the description and you are 100% committed to participating, please reply to this email with pics & year/make/model of your bike and race license info. I will notify selected candidates once they are approved and hope to have the grids finalized by early September.
