Hello,

After 18 months, I finally got my 75 Interstate dialed in and unfortunately a few weeks later a lady at work backed into the parking spot and knocked her over. I was pretty upset, to say the least. Anyway, it had a ding that I was able to get pushed out by a paintless dent guy, but when the girl who knocked it over, along with a guy helping her, tried to pick up my bike, the guy scratched my "o" on the tank right through the clear with his belt buckle. Anyway, none of the body shops around will touch it mainly due to the pin striping. Strange that they'd turn down easy work.

Does anyone know of a reputable person in the Hermosa/Redondo area? Heck I'll even drive to OC or up to LA if needed.

You might try Kevin Norton in San Marcos 760-744-3061.
He is well respected in the street rod/chopper world, and did a beautiful job on my custom street tracker. Including the clear coats, there are 46 coats of paint on the parts (it looks deep enough to swim in!)
Not at all cheap, but you get what you pay for.......

Prestige auto on Del Amo and Anza blvd looked at my tank told me he could match perfectly , he does really nice work.

Nice looking tank Romi3, I realy like the "Norton" lettering with the thiner lines like that. Do you know where they came from? I would like to buy some. My stickers have fatter lines. Glenn.

Gravelburns, very cool. That's pretty close to my area so I'll definitely go see them.

gtsun, believe it or not, this is a repro from India and came fully painted n cleared. I was hesitant initially but when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality.

Wow, good deal hope it holds up well. I'm in Fullerton O.C. We should head out for a ride sometime. I'll send you as PM. Trying to get more local Norton guys out for rides & should have mine back on the road any day. Glenn T.S.

Glenn,

So far so good. Tried looking for an original interstate, but all were fiberglass n I wanted steel. Yea, I'm always looking for people to ride with, so send me a PM when ready. Good luck on getting her dialed in and I look forward to riding. I love riding mine.

Here it is before I installed woodcraft clip ons and madass140 rearsets:

Nice bike.. It's always been rear sets & clipons for me too, this Sunday is the Monthly show in Huntington Beach, I'm going to ride there. Hope you can make it. VintagebikeOC.com

This is a few miles south of you, all the way down in Vista, in San Diego county, but ....

Blake Conway painted my Commando tank a while back, including repairing seam cracks after an accident, and coating the inside. He did an incredible job.

Also, in one of his many outbuildings around his house, as I walked by an open door, I noticed what looked like he had at least a dozen Nortons of his own.

Highly recommended - good work at a fair price.

Right on, Keith! Sounds like a very solid lead right there.

Will be sure to call him.

Thanks.
