Ive got the typical issue with sidestand pivot hole becomkng ovalled out and the stand no longer stowing at the frame rail on the bumpstop...it disappears under the rail, making it near impossible the get a toe on to deploy...need to either hop off and use CS or try and reach down from seating position to hand deploy it.

Dont have access to welders and lathes so I put a "P" clamp around frame rail to make an extended bumpstop...seemed to work for a while but no longer. Looking to just buy a new stand...$200 with shipping.

Has anyone tried making a pressed in sleeve in the stand hole out of more durable brass etc to regain the round shape? Is there enough metal around hole to enlargen and fit such a sleeve?

I have heated and pounded the ovalated bore back in to shape. Sounds crude but if you have some basic skills it can be done. I have also made a custom size bush to fit a sloppy side stand. You do whatever it takes.

The stand should pivot around the pivot spacer make sure it (the bolt) isn't pivoting in the frame hole.

It pivots as required, with the pivot held soild by the tight bolt and stand rotating around it. The stand pivot hole is oval and lets stand flop up/down when in the stowed position.

I took a 30-30 shell casing and placed it over the side stand bottom. It now extends far enough out to engage.
It was suggested by an aficionado, Allen G.
