Found and bought this NOS sidestand which looks to be the correct one, to replace a missing sidestand on my bike.

Is this the correct sidestand and bolt arrangemement including orientation of the bolt facing down?

Side stand has PN 23879 cast on.

Looks like the stand has interferance with the centerstand probably because the catch lever has been bent upward.

I assume the centerstand catch lever originally was positioned straight out?

Also, on this chainguard, does anyone know if a screw or bolt is correct. My bike has one of each.

The front uses an integral thread in the chainguard, while the rear uses a separate thin nut.

THis is a highly original bike missing some of its fasteners and parts. I'm trying to put it back as per original with NOS parts to match the original condition of the bike.

AN's website says the sidestand was held on with a circlip and pin arrangement, but the above NOS sidestand came to me with this bolt and nut installed on it.

Below are pix of an installed stand on a 650SS. The first pix is the outer side and the second is the inner. Bike was restored but I'm nearly certain the stand is original. It looks to me that the pin that the stand rotates on is an interference fit. The Andover version might be "up-engineered" or an adaption of a later design possibly used on the Commando.

Looking again at my photos I would guess that there are two "pins" pressed into the stand itself that fit two grooves in the larger pin that the stand rotates on.

Thanks Marc,
It looks like you have pins on the lug which holds a lipped axle in place.
I will take a better look at my lug tomorrow for evidence of the same.

Rather sure now that the bolt/nut is not original, and AN's double circlip pin is not either, but probably my best option now.

The posidrive type screw looks like my orriginals on the chain guard, Whitworth modern screws are suitable replacements but have to be carefully trimmed as they can rub the tyre walls .

My chrome posidrive screw has a nylon washer. Andover shows a hex head bolt for both front and rear positions.
Don't know what is accurate. Need to look at 1 or 2 more original bikes in order to come to a conclusion.

The one in this ad shows both types were used on the same chainguard, with the posidrive on front.
