My 850 commando has developed an oil leak when it is placed on the side stand . It is perfectly OK when it is placed on the centre stand ( don't use the side stand....duh!)
The bike never came with a side stand so this problem only came to light after I had installed one.
I suspect it may the gearbox rather than the primary as the oil drips off the lowest point on the swing arm cradle .

Any advice would be appreciated.
Regards
Rob

Clean engine and cradle. Place bike on sidestand. Check frequently (how often depends on how anal retentive you are) and see what's wet.

Clean up well then every now and then peer under with a light or replace tanny lube with ATF to see if that shows up, or just dig in and see what's wrong as that what's indicated no mater what if you want to park on side stand w/o marking its spots.
Its pretty common to at first over fill primary to factory stated levels and will drool out the inner cover sliding felt clutch seal till it reaches its innate level of chain lube w/o leaks. Of course anything ahead and above the swingarm will tend to end up there, so best wishes its only one place easy to fix leaking.
