Is it possible to repair the rivets that hold the front fender to the bracket stay on a 1974 850 Commando? I recently resolved my vibration issue and am going down the checklist of items that were broken by the problem. One of these is the front fender, which lost four of the six rivets that hold it to the bracket (the two on the left and the two on the right -- the middle two remain). Is it possible to get matching rivets installed? I would prefer to keep the original fender and repair it.

Thanks!

I had the same problem with several of the rivets. I repaired mine using small button head Allen screws. The head is about the same size as the rivet head. Not a rivet, but looks good.

Your local airport will definately have someone with the right gear to do rivets ( aircraft use slug type rivets ), personally I'd use the small allen head screws.

Same here. I have the button headed cap screws and they look good and you can pull the bracket off for painting or cleaning.

Rivets are easy to do, But with that said, stainless or eaven steel rivets will take a healthy rivet gun to buck. If you have never done it or have access to an aircraft mechanic, go with the button head allen screws.

Go with the SS button allens. They look great and don't loosen up over time either!
