The "case" had already been built Phil.
By you mate and it ain't got nothin to do with any sort of norton ever made.
Humility and in your case abstinence is the key to survival

Well that is indeed profound.
I gather you are referring to my hopped up lawnmower ownership.
I'll sell it to make you happy.

Now spill the beans Dk, was there ever a MkIII fitted with other than an RH4 head?

That's an interesting one Les. It would not be my cup of tea buying an original in the crate Commando for so much money. As one poster/blogger mentioned, once out and ridden it wouldn't mean much anymore anyway. I would be thinking how much more would be needed in upgrading the beast? But some would be happy to keep it in their lounge room or wherever. That is not motorcycling to me. Also I can see a lot of work for Mary next door. Those engine cases need a serious polish. And maybe the whole thing is seized solid. But I did see RH4 marked on the crate.

Care factor? Don't you have a wife buying you Fullauto heads? How much care do you need? Please don't come back and tell me you are wearing a nappy!

What is the stud pattern of the RH13? I thought all new MkIII's were factory delivered. Are you suggesting the dealers changed the heads? Just where do you get all this amazing information?

Phil

Carefactor relates to your question.
If anyone needs a nappy as you so call it it is you, worn as a face mask to collect all the crap that comes out of your mouth. Btw, they are actually called continence aids when referring to the items used by adults. The term nappy is considered to be derogatory as infants wear nappies.
Finally, I dare not say where I get my info from Phil as this May infant lead to another of your long list of names dropped!!!

It's a secret

you'll find that if you block posting by known d'heads - (there are a few, but most prominently is the one pouring his gibberish on this thread and the other who unfortunately is found on my continent who i suspect is a casualty of prolonged drug-use and serious oxygen deprivation) the forum is much improved
try it - you'll like it!

The ratio of useful information on this site to useless bull$hit has really taken a nose dive lately. I come here a lot less often and spend a lot less time. I'm not sure I'm going to spend the $ to be a VIP member anymore. Wonder if other VIP members are willing to vote with their $ to end this useless drivel.

Unfortunately, unlike acting in an abusive, threatening, or racist manner, etc. talking bullshit doesn't appear to break any forum rules. :?

Perhaps we need a system where VIP members get to vote for others to be excluded (at least temporarily) from the forum?

Thought you had to be proposed to be VIP ,if not you can have some of my cash , although I'm not into the high flouting stuff.
And as for talkin bullshit, I am getting better Mick hemmings hasn't told me to go forth and multiply in well over a year!

Bull$hit was perhaps a poor choice of words. What I meant was off topic rambles and personal attacks. On topic bull$hit is always appeciated. I also didn't imply voting on participants. Just questioning if myself and other VIP members are getting enough out of the site lately to continue to finacially support it or whether it is turning into a personal forum for a couple of members. While they may not violate the rules of tthe forum, I think they are violating the spirit which is basically one norton owner helping another by sharing useful information.

Hey htown16,
you have to let Aussies be Aussies! They won't insult you if they don't like you. These blokes are showing each other some deep affection by blasting away with very real sounding insults. (Oops, maybe now I let a cat out of a bag)
But you will really know they like you if they offer you Vegemite!

Guys, I'm sorry if I have in anyway contributed to this debacle. All I wanted to know is if the head stud pattern differed between earlier mk I-II and the later mk III.
I've asked a few times for Phil not to post on my threads, polite but firm yet he continues to do so as an agitant. They call it trolling I believe. I've had my last few threads burned by this fella and that pissed me off.
Hopefully with this fiction in my settings I won't need to suffer his relentless provocation and needless and irrelevant comments about lawn mowers and other general rot.
Again, sorry for getting and letting this fella get under my skin. In usually a very placid and peaceful gentleman but once my nose is out off joint, I tend to be a bit if a dig with a bone.

Posting from Australia does not mean you are an 'Aussie, just saying.

Sorry DKT that might have been my fault, PY posted about the Mk111 having the RH4 so repeated it, if L.A.B had said it I would have said the source also.
I did not know about the Mk3 / RH4 until your special internet friend said so some time back.

Maybe there was an abundance of RH4 castings left over in stores from prior to the RH10 introduction.

Nah man you're cool. Not your fault at all. Truth be told, I don't need an rh10 as I will pickup the fullauto soon but I do know that a lot of forum members in aus and nz would love one. I found a good one that had been worked on by Kelly cork. Those opportunities don't come up much so thought I'd share but was confused when the guy selling it said it was a mkiii head. I didn't want to debate him as I am no expert so thought I would ask here and as we know, some people can't help but be disruptive.
I've had my peace pills now so not as agitated.
Cheers timewarp
Regards
DKT

I'll have to research this further because I can't even remember who told me that all MkIII's were fitted with RH4 heads. But I believe it is so. Unfortunately your interesting NOC link stopped at 1974. I expect Jim would certainly know the answer but I don't think I ever asked him. It seems Norton did quite a number of strange things and your suggestion was possibly quite the case.
