Rebuilding top end with copper gaskets n stuff...

So, clutch stripped...

Not a good sight considering it’s low miles. It has clearly been slipping. Both friction and plain plates show signs of uneven contact. I can only assume some of them are not flat.

Becasue I have a hydraulic clutch fitted, I had the springs wound in much tighter than would be normal, so this clutch really should not have slipped.

It only slips at around 6,000rpm, which does make me wonder how many of these kits out there are also as prone to slipping, but just don’t get revved enough?

Anyway, whilst in the interest of science, I ‘should’ get to the bottom of this, I happen to have a complete Bob Newby kit on the shelf, so I’ve scientifically decided ‘f*ck it’ and that’ll be going on instead.

In the past the only successful way I found to stop the clutch from slipping on my t140 was to hand deck each plate until perfectly flat
