Copper washers top end - whut fer?

OK umm this is stupid question number 31527 but remember there are no stupid questions, just stupid people asking questions haha!

What are the 8 copper washers for in the top end kit (06.7929 on Andover)? I didn't see any in my pretty complete basket case, and the kit came with 6 alumin(i)um washers that I think are for the oil feed banjos, the numbers are correct anyway. Nothing in the several diagrams I've seen shows them. The cam cover caps have no washers but there are 8 opportunities there... and I see nowhere else that makes sense.

The 06.3129 rocker spindle plate copper washers were introduced during 1972 (from Commando eng. 203884).

Edit: ...And the rocker plate screws also lengthened (from 1/2" to 5/8") to compensate for the additional washer.

Oops yeah I didn't mean 'cam cover' WTH was I thinking. I meant those rocker spindles. Been working on too many SOHC and DOHC bikes. Thanks guys that helps.
