Rear footrest rubbers

Having fitted my new peashooter exhaust system, I now find a new slightly odd problem.

The new rear footrest rubbers I bought appear identical to the originals but they are a sloppy fit on the footpeg and would require glue.

Worse than that though, the flared inner end of the rubber rests nicely on the silencer when folded down and should melt pretty well if I leave it there.

The original exhaust system was black caps....is this normal with peashooters.....no particular hassles fitting the exhaust and the brackets are RGM stainless.

I had the experience in the past that when mounting peashooters on a MKIII, I had to use pre MKIII mounting hardware. Just throwing it out there though you do mention you had no issues to speak off.

Yes, I used pre Mk3 mounting plates, stainless items from RGM and everything lined up and fits just fine......(once I'd shortened the downpipes as per a previous posting) it's just the footrest rubbers that are a problem, bit bizarre really unless Mk3 footrests actually differ from previous models?

If all else fails I'll either trim the inner end so it can't touch the silencer or look for an alternative.

I don't think mine are quite as bad as that, but they are still close to touching. Wear of the pivot is likely to make things worse.
