“I remember going to Matts shop back in 2009 when we were at the rally and seeing how organized he was. I even asked him is this how it always looked, and without hesitation he said yes.”

I’ll choose excellent craftsmanship and a tidy shop over excellent craftsmanship and a messy shop, every time. CNW is a perfect example of how a shop should be run.

Totally agree!

Yep given that choice I'd agree
Opinions are great aren't they

Another benefit of staying organized is fewer things get lost; tools, fasteners, etc.

I make sure to tidy up before posting photos on the Norton Access site so that the OCD are not made uncomfortable.
The crop feature works incredibly well for this!
Workshop Videos are more revealing however.
Will stick with photos for now.

Don't take such drastic measures because I like checking out your kit too as well as the work.
My stuff is as good as lost with the family rooting through things like feral hogs in search of a carrot.

Off topic I know, but found: Couple of my old Norton News booklets from early & mid 80's. #49, 53, 54. Some of the prices from those days will bring tears to your eyes. Guess the others evaporated over time. Even a B & W pic of a Yellow Peril there for you Dave.

I also enjoy carefully peering at other people's shop/garage photos to spot cool/odd stuff...

I'm still getting my new place put together, retired now and moved out of the concrete jungle and into riding country. I have plenty of room now just have to figure out what goes where, in the winter it gets quite cold here and although the Barn/Shop has a huge wood burning stove in it I don't think it will keep it warm? So dividing up things so I can work in the garage in the winter.
I now hope I can stay organized a bit better, I understand how some find it hard in a tight area. I had to move bikes around just to make room to work on the bikes.

Glad someone else admits to it also GP. I work stone age in comparison to some of the guys here.
I'm just hard pressed for space, which has been the issue for the last thirty years. If I'd kept the Yama 650 & CR then things would be impossible. God save me from a deal on a trumpet or XLH I can't live without coming along....I'll be putting up another storage shed....Always needed a Bonnie though.
