Had an afternoon out on one of those during a skiing trip to Whistler. It felt very unnatural after riding a motorcycle and I found it quite difficult for a while, it was like riding a quad bike - something else I found odd.

OTOH, having ridden snowmobiles since 8yo, when the Can Am Spyder came along, it felt like I'd been on it my whole life.
Point of reference.
The skis going from skittering uselesssly over the top of the snow to carving hard as if on rails all controlled by body english, use of power/braking.
