I rode my Mk3 to a club meeting last night, my first "after dark" ride on a Mk3.
Bike runs well, Shorai battery LFX18A1-BS12 on stock 1975 charging components, and the battery seems to be fairing well.
This Mk3 is Canadian eh and the headlight seems to be dipping to the left.
So I went out took photos

Lucas lens, in the glass is marked vertically, 54525462.
The bulb is marked 12V 50/40w 15F.

Maybe it is my old eyes, but this headlight, both up and down, is dim.
Looks wonderful in daylight.
So would you recommend Andover up grade to newer looking bub? or some other unit?

Could it be the bulb that is causing "left dip"?

It could be a P36d 'car' bulb. 50/40W (and transverse filament) also suggests it's a car bulb (15F is a mystery so far).

The correct flat cut-off dip motorcycle bulb for that 54525462 headlamp lens is a P36d 45/40W BPF '370' Duplo filament (or later halogen/LED upgrade).

RHD = Right-Hand Drive, so 414 dips to the left.

I am very unhappy with the illumination of the speedo and tach.
It appears the bulbs are 5w Lucas 501 wedge type.
The original install of the 501 leaves this wedge bulb buried in it holder.

Any known successful upgrades?
Maybe an LED replacement of known exact description.
