The alloy tank '74 monoshock special Commando took home 1st place in the "Original Design/Concept" class at our local bike show today. It had the sportbikers and stunters hanging around it all afternoon. They gave me quizzical looks when I tickled the carbs and flipped out the kicker to start it.

Then, to top it off, my '53 Triumph T-Bird chopper took top honors in a crowd of V-twin engines, fat tires and several tons of chrome. All the old guys were snapping pictures and stooping down to have a closer look at the brand new Joe Hunt magneto and the PWK flat slide carb. Several muttered "that isn't a Lucas magneto", "that isn't an Amal carb", or both.

I'm pretty stoked with all the attention the Norton received (although several people asked why it wasn't Black).

Did any of them as how much for the Norton?
 
Congrats Paul. It's very satisfying to be acknowledged in a crowd of non-Brits for bringing something unique and beautiful that spans the ages.

Too bad you can't get what your stuff is worth, but then again who does
with Commando's.
