Funniest thing I've heard lately is I've heard at work they are looking for five 18 year olds to trane up as welder fabricators 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The ones we've had that turn up for the interview are never seen again once they see what's involved
The ones that do start leave by tea break
I wish I was joking but that's the way it is
I'm guessing the management have looked at our aging workforce and decided they'd try and do something about it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I can only imagine, the candyass kids getting spatter burns while welding, and ignoring it to keep a steady hand...

Not to worry. Once we/you run out of native born tradesman you can import them. Then those who think manual labor is beneath them will lament the fact that a plumber or welder makes more than a college educated video game developer 😬
 
Yep plenty of South Africans trying to get out , others from Phillipines and gana ! , look out for the brave Indian pole ectrician ! !

Working at Cowley Oxford plant in the mid 80's, fresh recruits were first given a 1 week alignment course in a training building. They mostly did that bit as it was classroom based but the majority just did not last the first shift on the assembly line. Those that did make it through the first 2 weeks on dayshift then decided that, as the night shift was paid at time +50%, that part time attendance was the way to go. 2 days on nights was enough for them to live on and also pay for the next 2 nights out on the town. When told they had to attend all 4 nights this made up the minds of the rest who promptly left to resign on as unemployed. It can
t have got any better over the decades.

Gotta laugh when I started work it was a 6 1/2 day week every week

On one occasion of holidays and sickness amongst my colleagues I ended up working 47 consecutive 12 hr nightshifts

The money was very very good :):cool::cool::cool:

Employment law would curtail such working hours these days.


Oxford luvvies ........... sounds like my taxation contributions has been keeping them in the lap of blood sucking luxury :mad:
