Hi guys,
I'm looking for advice about assembling the 850-74 Commando
I've been working on and off for about 3 years.
The rear swing arm and transmission cradle seem to be bent or twisted.
At this moment they are assembled together but out of the frame.
When the swing arm ends are made to contact a flat surfae the cradle rocks so 1 side is about 1/4"above the flat surface.
I intend to take them apart and check the swing arm by itself...but I am
having some trouble getting the inner tube out. Also the rear Isolastic
long stud seems out of level. I don't know anything about the bikes
history so it could have had a colision.
Any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance.
The manual I have (Clymer) says to see a chassis specialist for any work in this area.
Peter.

Thanks Norbsa,
That sounds like a great way to measure it as I tweak on it as you
mention. The V BLOCKS will show me exactly how far out it is.
I'll let you know how it goes,Thanks again,Peter

It can be saved most likley. Just tweak on it till a straight shafts running thru the swing arm piviot and the axel slots are all sitting on four V blocks evenly. This will give some clues as to more work to do after you have this done. http://accessnorton.com/norton/viewtopic.php?t=1238
