I read recently that Facebook's popularity was suffering because of political rants.

Anyone of the same opinion that this forum will so suffer from political topics?

I for one, have been ignoring any topic alluding to political or highly divisive topics.

Seems like we have been inudated this election. I quit watching the news altogether 3 weeks ago. Can't say my life is any worse for it. I likewise avoid any conversations about it digital or in person. Even with people I agree with.

I am not sure, it depends on what "popular" means?

I like this article - https://medium.com/@SeanBlanda/the-othe ... 70c1294063

"...the next time you feel compelled to share a link on social media about current events, ask yourself why you are doing it. Is it because that link brings to light information you hadn’t considered? Or does it confirm your world view, reminding your circle of intellectual teammates that you’re not on the Other Side?"

too bad there's not a knitting section.... as I'm sure we all know, PUB is public house. Democracy is all about that, if it offends you, speak up and tell us how a guy who is endorsed by nazis and the kkk is gonna make anything great again.

Politics is like dirty underwear-everyone has some, but when you pull it over someone else's head, they tend to retaliate.

I have seen politics nearly ruin 3 motorcycle websites, all of which have subsequently banned such discussion, along with religious stuff.

Has anyone here noticed a disdain for other (especially non-British) types of motorcycles? Multiply those biases X 100 and you have politics and religion.

For my part, I wouldn't mind a bit if it were banned here. However, as long as anyone feels free to bare their dirty underwear, I shall feel free to do the same, by mutual agreement (or disagreement, as it were). Even on websites where it's been banned, some people take liberty to make political interjections and innuendo in otherwise unrelated postings. Some children do as they're told and others need a smack on the ass now and then.

Because of lack of interest, Monday has been cancelled. Sometimes a discussion is worth having.

For your other Brits on here, the "ass" in this context is "arse" and has nothing to do with donkeys.

Why is he smacking his Donkey...?

That's not cricket...

Well that smacks of some kind of innuendo  just not sure which kind

If Donald Trump has done anything, he has got people reviewing their values and beliefs. For many, he is the moment of truth, even if he is UGLY !
