I have two original paint Roadster tanks, sorry, no Interstate tanks but I assume the same people hand did them. The stripes are nominally 1/8" wide with a nominally 3/32" gap between them. I say nominally because they are hand done and there are variations. At the point where they merge near the rear of the tanks, the are about 1/4" and quickly reduce to nominally 1/8".
One tank is known to be original to its 1974 850. The other came on a 1972 750 but I don't know if is was original to that bike - both are steel.
This was originally taken to show the proximity of the tank to the sidecover on an Interstate, but it should suffice. You'll have to convert to inches; sorry...
