Josh,
The oil tank only mounts on the 2 bolts on the front bottom of the carrier and the tongue that sticks out of the top to the frame. 2 1/4-28 hex bolts mount at the 2 bottom holes through a head locking tab, through the tank, through 2 spacers and then into the threaded inserts in the carrier. Top mount is 1/4-28 hex bolt through the hole in the tongue, a spacer and through the frame to a nut. This mount had flat washers both ends. I used a nylock nut. Here's some pics. The top is pretty obvious but if you want pics let me know.

Why would you want to put an automatic oil leak on your bike? The first thing I did with that chain oiler was remove the parts and crimp the thing shut and solder it.

Looks like your oil tank is the later one with the breather going into the top of the tank instead of the top hat like mine.
Should help oil from leaking out of the center front hole of the oil tank in the air filter.

Thanks Dave, the three spacers, what offset do the give ( how wide/deep are they ? ).

With the oil breather, I have a PCV which has been mounted on the magneto hole cover and will pipe to the vent under the carbs ( the breather yours does not appear to have ) then running the rear tank breather to the oiler, I do not imagine there will be much oil coming out of the breather ?.

I knew you would ask. The 2 on the bottom are right at 1/4" thick. OD is around 0.5". Nothing critical with the OD there. The spacer on the upper mount is right around 0.35" It's in an impossible place to measure. OD the same 0.5" I'm sure any close dimensioned spacers would be fine.

There is a reflection off the frame so it looks twice as long.

On the 69/70 bikes there was no breather off the old magneto area. The breather came off the left side of the engine on the end of the cam. There is a timed (slotted) gizmo on the end of the cam and it lets air out of the crank. Elbow on the crank there and a rubber hose went up to either the tube on the top hat, or the tube into the top of the tank depending on which tank you had. The hole in the front of the oil tank in the air filter area, is just a tube that goes up into that top hat close to the top and ends there. It's the breather for the oil tank so pressure doesn't build up in it. You don't want to block that or your tank will build up pressure. The hole in my tank on the front was always weeping oil and it dripped down on top of the GB to keep it well oiled outside. I have heard it helps to keep the oil on the lower side between the marks and it helps keep oil from coming out that hole. If mine leaks, I'm going to fit a fitting and tube on it and drop it down out the side somehow. If you have a different breather, you can block off the timed breather at the end of the cam and block the tube going into the top of the tank. Actually I asked Mick Hemmings about the old breather and he recommended just letting it out in the air instead of into the tank. It is going to drip however.

The chain oiler came off the smaller banjo (return) and hooked up to some piping and some sort of filter and dripped down on the chain from a tube attached between the holes in the center of the chair guard. I just threw out all that stuff probably a week after I got the bike.

With the breather in the original cases ( the bike did have a set of 71 cases fitted,b ut also came with the originals ), the timing disc area has been damaged and repaired, it is not possible to fit the original timed discs, so I am going with the PCV, the orignal hole at the front will be plugged up with a bolt.
