I thought our dear Steve Hobit was king of the key board...now theres a new kid on the block! How is the old heavy weight going to respond?

Hobit wont need to respond.. Obviously "been there done that".. How many posts was it ??? 12000 or so ... "Edit, that to 14500+"

Gidday all.
Love him or hate him, this forum would be a poorer place without hobot (no capitalisation).

I had just come to this forum and current hobot story was about all the tools he carried on his Norton to a rally. Blow torch, milling machine and roach clip included. I think it was called "looking for Waldo" . to newbies have a look. I still burst into a big smile when recalling that post. that struck me as really funny. I have never forgot it.

A collabrative literary effort between Phil and Steve should result in an very interesting article. the hardest part would be mixing Strine with Dixieland. might take some translating. (Strine is aussie speak. dont see much of it here.)

Ride safe Bradley

Steve {Hob] will read this, chew on it, have a drink, mayby a smoke, crack his knuckels and VAMOOOOOMMMMM!

???? Maybe there is a loss in translation from "Strine to the Queens English" here.    ..... There is no malice intended to Hobit (with capitalisation!) and im sure it would take better than forum members to make him "crack his knuckles"

There is no comparison. One of then is a belligerent asshole and the other is not.

Freakin hilarious. You know we were all thinking the same thing.
The difference is I can understand what Phil is saying.
BTW, it's "hobot".
I think somewhere he explained what the name meant.

I love that definition, I always felt that about hobot. It's so him. :P

Yes, one is all too transparent the other is rather cryptic.

One is empty dribble the other is rich with content.

One tends to be somewhat of a jerk, the other rather respectful.

Ya know, if we could vote people off, the only people left would be newbs wondering around in the darkness, and of course comnoz as the beacon of hope and reason.

They both make me smile!!!!!!!! Thin skin is not a good thing in todays world, Just laugh!!!!

I've gotten back home from church praying for you Pete and I see this. It hasn't been a good day.
The priest said I was reeking of alcohol and that I should rest outside. He didn't like interjections during his sermon.

So I fired up the big beefy MkIII, did several hobot doughnuts and a massive burn out and rode home to drink out the fridge.
Nearly there.

Don't take yourself too seriously Pete. You are a good guy.
But I think I know your problem. You've got your isolastics screwed up too tight.

Phil

Hey Y'all,

I think you are taking Yates too seriously....

His humor comes thru to me, and I am just a backwater country boy.

There's just so much you say about Commando's. It's nice to talk about their owners once in a while.
It's all just fun.
Torontarian, Matt Spencer and Hobot and the cryptic ones. Phil is like Hobot in that they are both wild child's except I can understand what Phil is saying.
This is a better place with all of them I think.
Hobot is still the king of the 40 word sentence.

Phil, you're so vane, you probably think this post is about you.

That was a Carly Simon song Pete.
I was never Carly's boyfriend, though she begged and pleaded.
She wasn't my cup of tea.

The only thing I've wanted in life is to be taken seriously.

It just hasn't happened yet.

I read a lot of the posts on this forum and don't take many of them seriously. I've been around motorcycling for about 60 years, and the one thing which destroys my enthusiasm the most is bitchiness. The most difficult thing about getting older is to keep the urge going - there are some excellent posts on this forum and they help a lot. I don't try to judge Phil or Hobit - they both believe in what they are doing. I just appreciate the fact that they contribute.

I really doubt that is the issue.

Acotrel, don't worry about judging Phil, there's a few of us that have that covered.

That's very fair comment acotel.
I said the same recently about hobot. Not that he appreciates being in the lime light.

There are lots of aspects to owning a Commando:
Riding them.
Building them.
Fixing them.
Racing them.
Stories about them.
And so on.

This forum is not about any one aspect in particular. So why can't we all have our say?
Pick the topic that interests you. Read, post or do both. Sounds fair to me.
The forum is not governed by self appointed elitists who feel their interests are all that should be in here.

Are they all snipers like you Pete? Duck in, fire, then duck out.
I'm sure Jerry has installed a big green button you can press, bingo!
Your pain is gone.

Pete, you just can't assess a person by text.
I read yours and think, he's a real nice guy.
