Just got these in the mail today from bcf cycle in ohio. Very nice company, i've purchased a few things from them, they always ship the same day and seem to have quality products. These guys are made in england, correct original finish on them, and seem like good quality. $75.00 a pair!

What's inside of them? I got these from Clubman the other day. A bit shiny buy hey for $30. Taiwan. He had some British made ones for more.

Since I use avgas, they may last, don't know about ethanol, but supposedly they are improved?

i wish i could tell you! My circlip pliers have really shit the bed, i'm going to have to give up and buy a new pair. But just looking up inside it and turning the valve everything looks brass

If you look in real carefully with a glass and light, you may be able to see if it's tapered or straight. I can see the rubber in the ones I got from the outlet side and the valve is straight. The old brass ones I have all I see is tapered brass.

Ok you got me curious, so the crappy pliers did one last job. It is indeed tapered, sorry for the crap photo, was too lazy to get a camera and just used my iPad

Thanks for taking it apart. They look like the brass shaft ones that replaced the original plastic breakable type later on.

The shiny chromed Taiwan one which has the straight shaft and cylindrical rubber is a royal pain although cheap enough - sometimes $29 for a pair and I've gotten several pairs for various bikes. The rubber rotates with a mind of its own and sometimes sticks out into the fuel passage. I take them apart every year and use silicone grease and gently rotate the rubber into the right spot. Usually have to trim a bit with an exacto blade. But this is really ridiculously excessive maintenance isn't it? I think I'll try these bcf ones next.

Russ, I forgot about them until you mentioned them the other day. There were only three sets left so I thought I should grab them because mine are useless at this point

Those are just like the ones that I just put on my COmmando. British made. Work great. I sourced mine locally and they guy had a box full of them.
