IMO, best taps are made by Pingel, but I am not familiar with those recommended by donmeek, Post #13.
Pingel taps can be had in 1/4 NPT, which in turn can be re-cut to 1/4 BSP using the proper die. The slight difference in thread shape and pitch will be insignificant over the short length required.
Be advised, that whatever tap you use, a flow rate of about 350 ml/min is minimum for a 750 engine or a high performance 650.
Fuel taps, filters and caps for motorcycles, manufacture of Zamak die-cast components for vehicles, vertical, angled and right/left outlet fuel taps for mopeds such as Piaggio and Yamaha. Fuel taps equipped with position indicator

I had a pair of genuine original NOS BAPS, which I found in an old Stock Box {they were from the late 1970s} from when the dealership was open, so I listed them on a well known Internet auction website....I genuine could not believe what they sold for and this wasn't just 2 lunatic bidders, there were half a dozen lunatic bidders!
I sell Coventry Spares petcocks on E Bay, they work well and come with the sealing washers. They don't leak as they have fuel resistant rubber inside and come with high quality USA Stato seals as well as the flat washers as a kit with the petcocks. My sellers name on E Bay is racingnorton I'll stand behind them and have had no complaints about them. BAB petcocks have never impressed me and just don't look right . Carl H

I have a box full of stock petcocks that I've collected over the years. From multiple sources, including Old Britts which would have been from Andover. They ALL leak. Some have the rubber sleeve chewed away by burrs on the shaft and have left pieces of rubber in the fuel lines. I switched to BAP and though I'm not a fan of the looks they DON'T leak.

Me too, I have lots old ones, The ones with plastic valves were the worst of the OEMs . But luckily Coventry only sells good stuff. And will take back defects.
