On the road again

Hi Bob, Ludwig posted this last year. A complete success in my view.

Martin

The tank of an N15 is too small , so I made a larger copy of the original .
Still too narrow for a regular tankbag , so I use a bicycle type handlebar bag .
It rests/slides with a felt pad over the tank cap, and swings forward for refueling .
It's only one of many mods to make the bike a reliable and practical tourer .

AMC (the Matchless works) produced the scrambler tank in various guises. I have seen 2.25, 2.5 and even 3.2 gal sizes mentioned (the latter was an option for the P11). For touring they made the large 4.5 gal tank which was standard fitment on G15Mk2 and G15CSR.

Hello Ludwig, if you're going close to Geneva, give me a call and let's have a fondue.

Trop tard.
I rode through Bellegarde, had a stopover in Thonon Les Bains .. close to Geneve but only see your message now.

Hey—new member/ first post… proud Commando owner.

Nothing makes me happier than to see these old bikes getting used like this (especially, to great success). Congrats on the “perfect trip”.

Zut alors :( Between Bellegarde and Thonon you have to pass very close from me, like 10km max. See you nest time.

But I didn't ride directly to Thonon:
trough Bellegarde dir. Annecy, plateau des Glières, col de la Colombière, Bonneville .. Thonon.
