Oil filters

Tiedy
Parts and dealerships in Australia are disappearing fast .
Frasers have nothing ,Rockers have nothing,
I ordered 2 oil filters and had them delivered within 7 days.
I would like to support Local but for the price and delivery I have found the uk the best option
Talking to a norton owner in Townsville he got charged a fortune for 2 oil filter from local business .

Cheers
Paul

23 US including shipping. That's a good deal. That's a filter for a dated Mercedes utility vehicle that was never even sold in the US. Could Norton make it any more difficult for the overseas market.? Geez, Louise. !?!?!?

The WIX WL7227 is an exact replacement for the hard to find Bosch oil filter. I am in Northern California and just bought 2 from a local auto parts store for $7.79 ea. + tax. They had to special order them direct from WIX and it took a couple of weeks. The WIX filter includes both O rings.

Just did a search on ebay in Australia and cheapest i can find for WIX WL7227 is $12 plus postage .
So i guess its a case of shopping around to find best deal .
Great to know we have different brand options for filter

cheers

I really wish everyone would put their location in their signature, I almost just ordered from the ebay link and would have overpaid for overseas shipping!

I just ordered 1 filter from AF1 in Texas for $18.99 + shipping! I also ordered 2 of the Wix filters from CAR ID in NJ for $5.62 ea. + shipping. I will report back with shipping times and my quality observations as soon as I receive the shipments.

FWIW
I’m pretty sure Wix makes the NAPA Gold oil filters. Now that you have a part number I bet you can go to your local NAPA and get them. Not sure about the $$$ part.

I think the feeling in Australia is we have to fend for ourselves ,
Dealerships have gone and we have to source consumables and parts ourselves.
For me to order a filter from the states the freight expensive.
the link was put up to give owners another source to buy from ,
It won't suit everyone ,but it suits me

Cheers

I ordered from the original link posted on ebay.UK and got 2 filters shipping included for $18.34 US dollars. They only charged $1.50 GBP for shipping. Thanks for the Wix filter info, but at least I don't feel ripped off. AF1 are really fine folks, but I think they order from Norton and send on to us so we may be absorbing 2 shipping costs.

An update. I changed engine oil today and used the Wix filter. Certainly looks like a quality item and fitment is excellent. However, the O rings that come with it are of no use to us Norton 961 owners.

Were you able to find a suitable replacement for the O ring?

The O-rings that come with the oil filter are for a Mercedes . If Norton wanted to , they could put in a Norton oil filter cover O-ring . That would justify the higher dealer cost in my view. So , you can reuse the Norton o-ring many times before replacing. Just order the O-ring from the Norton dealer they are about $3 or $4 each.
