Oil filters

The O-rings that come with the oil filter are for a Mercedes . If Norton wanted to , they could put in a Norton oil filter cover O-ring . That would justify the higher dealer cost in my view. So , you can reuse the Norton o-ring many times before replacing. Just order the O-ring from the Norton dealer they are about $3 or $4 each.
TonyA is correct. The oil has now been changed twice on my bike and the O-ring is still in good shape. The Bosch & Wix filters are for cars not even available here in the colonies.

for the Aussie owners, i've done some checking & Ryco Filters list an oil filter for the 961 engine.
R2678P cross references from the Mann HU610X & Wix WL7227.
Dimensions match up at 78 x 52 x 21
I haven't bought one & tried so would be interested to hear from anyone locally?

Tony, O-ring supply houses everywhere. Check google maps. The one by my house charges less than a cdn dollar for one. And no shipping. You go pick it up. Bring your old o-ring that is still intact (no cut) and they will match. If you have trouble call a fastener place like fastenal ( not sure if you have that co) and they will tell you were to get o-rings.

Just ordered the filters from the Paul's link 2 for 27 inc postage, exchange rate may be different now but still a great price, checked out repco for the Ryco one hywayman it was 46 I rang Brisbane the other day and they wanted 56 for norton one. Mine won't be here for around 2 weeks but that's ok I'm not in a hurry.
