Fitted a set recently. Away from home at present but will add some pics of mine later in week. I changed the clevis joints to rose joints as I didn't like the linkage rod angle.

Also added some PTFE washers to take out play.

Agree they are a nicely made bit of kit. Much improve the riding position.

Great idea, do you recall which rose joints you got? The right peg is already loose after one short ride. Even locktited it. The right side peg should have some sort of locking key or something. Maybe drill them for a pin?

Took the shifter side off and retightened everything.

Red locktite this time on the foot peg.

If you rotate it so the shifter is too low the mount hits the retaining bolt and it won’t shift up (higher gear).

I’m looking forward to some heim/rose joints.

Without a doubt, at least for me, the best mod for an Interstate. My hips are rolled forward now and I sit into the wind. Before it was some sort of quasi-cruiser slouch. I feel I could put a thousand miles on it without a complaint. I may need to test that.

Time to get back to the Proddy.

Rose joints were from these folks . Nothing special, just cheapo from ebay. I did have to make bushing to run 1/4" bolts ( well i used 6mmm but don't tell anyone) through to fasten the linkage rod.

Rose joints were cheap enough to try out. If they work well I'll replace with stainless ones, but they are about 6x the price!

I found the foot rests a pain to tighten too. Only done 3 miles so far and they survived that with blue Loctite.

Can post more pics when home but you might be able to see searchable side from zooming pic.

Have also added a pic of my work in progress brake light switch.

Its a Pity about the rear lamp switch position & cable ties.... is this WIP?
Am I'm currently reviewing rear set options, I'd be interested to know (with pics please) what other folk have done with this??

Thank you

The cable switch can add a spongy feel to the rear brake so I went a different way, I mounted a handlebar brakelight switch to the alloy support and an allen bolt through the foot lever arm so the head of the bolt operates the switch.

Correct. The online switch is a bodge of a solution. I don’t use my rear brake much so it’s ok. But not great.

How the hell does he get away with those labels “Genuine Norton spare parts” ??

Not only does he have zero claim to the name, those parts are / were never genuine Norton parts.

Taking the piss in plain sight... And no one does anything...
Roger that.

Very much WIP. Just wanted to see if it would work before I made more effort or could come up with a neater idea.

Staytite made a good suggestion in another thread. Will add a link soon.

The cable with the built in switch is a complete pile of you know what. If you want to try that approach I have one you're welcome to for the price of postage.

Hi Gadge
I looked for pictures of my bodge earlier, but could not find them. If I get time
tomorrow I’ll do new ones. I can see how to become a VIP member, but not the
cost! Either I’ll become a VIP or send a PM to you to post my pictures. Cheers, Staytite

If it’s the Proddy/JPN one I’ll consider it if you’re willing to ship to US.

So with the rose joints you still have room? The rod is very close to the shifter on mine.

This is how the rose joint works on the NY Norton rear set.

You chould mount it to the outside instead and it should work.
