Norton trouble

My point is its NOT true...(Somebody prove me wrong)
If that's not true what else that were are reading is not true...and if I am correct by who and why was the rumour started?
And is your point that SG whilst CEO of Norton and a few other companies, became the pension trustee to the 228 people whose pension pots, while moving their money around like water, breaking all the fiscal rules put there to prevent yet another Robert Maxwell popping his head above the parquet, you still believe SG hasn't got ANY flies sticking to him?

Just so we're clear:

  1. You challenge the validity of multiple media reports that claim "X" by attacking the legitimacy of the media themselves
  2. You present a counter claim that attempts to falsify the validity of those reports but present no evidence yourself
  3. You claim legitimacy by challenging others to "prove you wrong"

"Example: Bertrand declares that a teapot is, at this very moment, in orbit around the Sun between the Earth and Mars, and that because no one can prove him wrong, his claim is therefore a valid one."

Nope that's not my point at all...nor have I ever implied it is.

If the document quoted (by many sources) exists...then proving me wrong should be a very simple task...somebody do it please.

I have been up to the factory a good dozen or more times in the past two years and never saw a single Aston, not one. Yes I saw a Lamborghini early on, it wasn't in great shape but nice, and the top of the range rover parked up with a nice private plate but that was being driven by several different employees on several different occasions hauling gear about, I never saw SG drive it. Yes I also saw some ace cars of various makes being driven by employees as they left for home, I got the impression that some of the staff were being paid quite well, or maybe like me in my early years they spent there wages on vehicles they could ill afford :)

As for the 'stately home' that SG lived in. Donington Hall was a wreck, SG openly acknowledged it was a wreck. They had tarted up the entrance lobby and the 'library' purely to make visitors feel at ease, but the rest of the place was a dump, even the trek down to the toilets was taking a walk through one of your own worst nightmares.

There was at least one Aston (I think I saw two but could swear it) and a Range Rover when we where there on a Bike Night Mark.

Well spotted! I can usually spot one at a thousand paces (being my 'dream' car). The RR I've seen plenty of times and each time it looked more unloved than the last lol

"All the cars except the Range Rover were confiscated by the receivers BDO".

BDO are either not stupid or have a bit of taste:)

Yes, I went to the factory twice and saw one Aston there both times, I presumed Garner was checking up on my bike :)

Prove you're right then.
You don't just have Aston Martins and there be no record of them not being accounted for. The Aston Martin factory or dealership will have records, and being a third party they have a right to have their business with Norton motorcycles or SG depending on who owned them, kept private. They could also have been on loan from the factory like JLR do with their products.
The press are no doubt being gagged by what they could report, this could be at the request of the administrators or other investigating bodies. Part of the administrators job, other than trying to save and sell the company, is to assist and investigate miss-management and past illegal practice, so not all is going to be released.
The press operate in the UK to a higher level proof for the reports they produce than what is expected of the public, any falsehoods, untruths etc can result in serious legal action.
I believe the report said norton motorcycles had Aston Martins, it may not have said specifically who owned them, the company, SG, or the Aston Martin factory. All will become clear in the future.

Aston Martins aside, pension robbing and flagrant mis-management of money (allegedly)
  1. 961 Commando, one of the best looking bikes, designed and built.... period
  2. 2 new Atlas bikes designed and ready to go into production.
  3. V4 both variants.... again one of the most stunning and possibly had a great racing future on the street race circuit scene.
The latter 2 don't seem like a short term cash grab mentality, I believe that SG and Co just didn't have the business acumen to pull it off, simple!!

The alleged parts robbing is not confirmed, the investigations are ongoing, wait till the dust settles all these things just look like said desperado was just trying to push this beast across the line and in the end they got a little lost morally with trying to succeed at all costs.

I for one was going to sell my Scrambler62 and buy a Nomad for sure, I'm not alone, there will always be a market for "Norton" lets hope someone with actual Business talent rocks up and has a better crack at getting these magnificent machines roaring again.

That's my take :)

I am not the one publishing claims in the national press...I have nothing to prove...I am just questioning the authenticity of a supposed document published by BDO supposedly claiming Norton had 6 Aston Martin's...I maintain if such a document exists please can someone show it...I have asked a simple question many times. .still no one has come up with the document.

No one has access to BDO files, nor can they submit that information on pain of being arrested and being disbarred and given their P45, so you will just have to hang fire until the court case is concluded ( if any eventually happens) mean while, you will just have to agree to disagree.

That is because most of what you read is hear say or copy paste from some other internet source that is not direct from the new administrator.

Now it is stated it was all an elaborate hoax to scam people, that is why they actually built bikes at a factory you could actually visit instead of just taking deposits, making no bikes and keeping the money.
They almost got away with it.
Yep, but try telling that to the people who saved for 40/50 years for their pension, and now will have nothing, because they were scammed of their money, it doesn't sit well with a lot of people, the PM can order an investigation, oh! Hang on, there is one ongoing. . . . .

Yes I feel sorry for those people (I can only assume it was some form of existing Superannuation transferred )
What was the carrot on a stick ?...... a much higher return over a short period ?

You'll have to go back and read the court case of the two dudes who were jailed, I think in 2017.

Watching a re-run of The Motorbike Show it was interesting to hear the guy who now owns Hesketh explaining how he spends 25% of his time in the workshop, 50% on the financials and 25% in court.

Do you have a link to watch that somewhere?
