While I prefer UNdoing them, I don't mind the folks that DO them up in whatever suits thier fancy. As long as you pay me, I'll even do them!

hi chopped 850,just a curious question,is the engine and gearbox iso mounted,if so do you see any rear chain tension problems

They are iso mounted and I haven't had any problems with the chain. That bike from the 70's is bitchen but not my style. I'm building the bike to my taste and liking and within my budget. I started this venture back in may and it's taken a while to get through all the ideas in my head and decide on a final outcome. Fab work is fun but challenging at times. I have learned alot from doing all the work but the frame neck. I did cut off all the tabs and crap that were welded on over the years. I had to relocate the top motor mounts, foward control mounts, and cleaned up the others. Pic's to come this weekend.

Thanks gents, I will of course post pic's when she's done. It will be a more comfortable ride than before as it was built for a person 6+ feet tall. Now it's built for me and riders 5' 8" -6'.
personaly I dont like norton \motors on choppers because not too many people can pull the look off, but your bike is almost there! I cant wait to see the finished product and good luck with it!

Updated pic's from yesterday.

Looking good. Part of me wants to see a pair of Amals stuffed in there though. For some reason I think chops look better with a dual carb set up but that involves extra cash spent so I'll shut up now.

Well coco, it did have them but they needed some attention as the bores were worn out. It cost me the same for this setup as it would have to get the amal's done right.

It's nice to see a motorcycle taking shape, keep posting progress shots. Are you going to run with straight pipes? How about the wiring, in the frame or visible?

Jean

Yes, it cries for a pair of Amals or at least one. A bigger air filter might save the day with looks and the way it's going to run too. I like the way it's looking But please, put a rear fender on it, you making my lower area hurt just looking at it. One bump and well enough said. Just enough to keep you from getting sucked in please.something like this shape but shorter.

Easy now, the rear fender is getting some color and will be mounted this weekend with a brand new sparto tailight. The wiring will be run along the frame but there isn't that much of it. More pic's this weekend.
