A few years ago I purchased this review from eBay. I did not write it, but its a pretty good read. I think the original was in "Superbike" magazine from back in the day.
Thanx Jerry almost missed it as same ole same ole but learned new history details and verification Combat crank machining error was biggest bomb rather than inherently bad design though not evolved from caveman to a gentlemen's ride. Did the shift u-d direction change when it switched sides?
Yes mate about the shift switch. I spent extra time when putting that area together. Now its loosened up, shifts perfectly, no leaks and i am ambishiftious so no worries there..
"Ambishiftious"; that's good! As I am left-handed, I should also be "ambishiftious", but I'm not. Just about the time all seems well with the world, it reaches up and bites me. I guess that's part reason I've sworn off all other modes of two-wheeled transportation.

Ahhhh - more free forum therapy to help tolerate my own events less personally picked on, thanx.
So Combats only un-doing was bad machining of the AAU to mis firee to break a bad machined crank and very little to nothing to do with the bearings which were the flat and ball type.
