A few days ago I attempted to post a comment about the damage to the frame on the bike in an auction on the Bring A Trailer website (URL link provided below). I submitted the comment shown in quotes below and received an immediate onscreen message from the BAT website that the comment would be subject to review. At this point in time it appears the comment is not going to be cleared by whatever the process is in place at BAT that would be conducting the review.

The aforementioned frame damage may be obvious to those experienced with Nortons, but perhaps not so to a potentially new or less knowledgeable Norton buyer. So perhaps someone here with an account on BAT, whose account status will allow them to do so, can put up a post about the damage to the frame before the auction ends, which is in about four days.

And just before posting this notice here, I attempted to post my comment again and received this from BAT:

HERE'S THE ORIGINAL COMMENT I ATTEMPTED TO SUBMIT:

"Almost 30 comments in and no one has mentioned the frame damage (pinched tube) at the point the sidestand lug attaches. The damaged area of the frame tube is clearly evident in the excellent photos, as is the resulting effect of the excessive lean shown in the photos of the bike resting on the sidestand.

I mention this for the benefit of those not familiar with Commandos who may plan to bid competitively."

Just checked out the site and your comment is now up.

that could be fixed , however if a person just tried to pull it back it would probably twist/distort the frame.Or crack it. The only way to fix it ,is to disassemble the whole bike and have a frame expert straighten the area and check/correct the whole frame afterwards. IMHO

You have great eyes. I saw the bike in person a month ago, it was on the center stand then. I wasn't interested in the $18,000 - $20,000 they expected to get! Looked at detail pic, it wouldn't keep me from buying. But I would never trust the side stand the way it leans'
