The bottom end is now complete and mounted in the frame since the photo was taken, just need to sort the head out, then engine is complete, im currently on the hunt for some forks, any advice, or even spare parts are always appreciated, if you have either, please let me know!

The Triton has been stood since 1973, all documents were lost, but i managed to get a dating cert from the numbers i had.

Cheers, Steve.

Welcome Steve, nice bikes, regarding a front end, my suggestion would be to build a set of Roadholders
from parts as opposed to buying a set of forks and then having to replace most of the bits, build from
scratch, all new, all the parts are available , including some economical damping upgrades etc.
maybe go for the external springs, I have nice Dunstall replica yoke sets perfect for this, had to throw that in.

Welcome, Looks like a great project.
I have a full set of roadhandlers with early commando yokes.
New head bearings, Good tubes, new seals (upgraded dual lipped style), good bushings etc.
New Grimeca caliper and adapter plate. Uses the 12" floating disc from RGM.
I was building up a set for one project, and purchased a complete other set, ended up with 2 sets now.

Nice Triton (the commando is not too shabby, either).

I'd like a set of slickshift bits to put in my Matchumph project's gearbox...

Hi Ste and welcome.
Nice bikes and living in the Lakes is handy for RGM :D and you must be the fastest one to suss out how to post piccies!!
I am in Cheshire so not too far away, I will have a look for any bits for you but I don't have a lot of stuff these days, is there anything in particular you need? Regarding the forks depending if you want to keep it British or not? you could try a pair of Yamaha R6 forks, a mate of mine put them on the Triton I built and sold years ago.

Hi, thanks for all the replys!

Yeah, RGM is pretty close to me!

Im wanting to keep road holders on it, ill be going to a few auto jumbles in the next couple of months, so hopefully ill pick something up there.

Oh, ill post some pictures up of my dads bike, a 69, bsa rocket three.

Nice place to live, Steve. DW and I were both born and raised in Leyland. Both families had weekend caravans at Silverdale. When I was testing Commandos for N-V, once we got reliability up to an acceptable standard, my favorite test ride ws Wolverhampton - M6 to Levens Brige, across to the Barrow area, then over Hardknott and Wrynose passes into Ambleside.

We have some pretty spectacular scenery here in Washington State, but it's more like Norway at the coast and like the Swiss Alps in our mountains. I much prefer the less "magnificent" scenery that you have in Cumbria, but what we have is pretty good! It sure beats the dreary flat stuff in the US Mid-West.

We live in a small coastal town on the firnge of the San Juan Islands of Washington. My sister, who still lives in Leyland reckons this is the place "where God goes on his holidays".
