So I decided it was finally time to retire the fiberglass tank on my 750. After a lot of thought I settled on a color scheme and sent the new steel tank and a set of fiberglass side panels off to Brent Budgor for painting. The parts arrived today. I'm very pleased, to say the least. Brent does great work!
You guys may remember that somewhat unusual steel tank I posted about a while ago:
Well, here's what it looks like now:
I wanted a color similar to the Fireflake Royal Blue on the old tank, but metallic not metalflake. And I wanted something a little different and more unique than the usual 850 lining. I think it turned out pretty good.
Previously, the bike had the blue tank and black sidepanels. A friend in our club nicknamed my bike "The Bruiser" because it was black and blue, "like a bruise". Not any more! It's all one color now, as it should be.
