New kickstart shaft and new kickstart woes

installed a new kickstart shaft and new kickstarter it works great but i noticed. when i take off in first gear it makes the kickstart lever move down like the layshaft is bad it was replaced. with a roller about 100 miles ago. could i have effected the endfloat and caused this? it didnt do it before the kickstart lever was tight and i had to tap it on.any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What I've experienced it is the first gear bushing which is known to crumble causing friction on the kick starter shaft.
