850 kickstart bush movement normal?

Hi all. Am tearing down the gearbox of my '73 Mk II 850 for a 30,000 mile inspection and happened to notice that the steel kickstart bush in the inner cover moves. It rotates tightly but smoothly in the seat as if it's riding on a film of oil, and the bush also moves laterally in the seat a bit, quessing .010 - .020". Is this normal? I assumed the bush would be seated tightly in the bore. I do not know what layshaft bearing I have yet, or whether that makes a difference to this issue. I do know the gearbox was serviced by the prior owner at approximately 15,000 miles. Thx in advance.

It should be a tight fit. Sounds like the outer cover bore is worn. A good degrease and some thin loctite will help but theres a lot of pressure on that area when jumping on the kickstart...

Kickstart shaft is snug in both steel bushes. The outer cover bush is tight. I'll knock out the inner cover steel bush and lock tite it .
