Best just to have a stock engine that's been built well IMHO.

People with cracked RH4 heads are going to be loving those new heads though...

Well you all have a point but need we stop dreaming? The look of them just makes my motor run a little faster. But if they were being made by Norton what do you figure they would cost? And you know they would not even be close on quality. I still would buy it if I could talk the old lady into it, Seems I can't talk her into to much these days. If ya know what I mean.

No EI for me, thanks. Make those FCRs and I'm in. Just as soon as my ship comes in... wait, is that it...! what IS that....?!?!?

I tend to agree, Debby, but then I see those Jim Schmidt videos....SCHWINGGG!!!

Yes, but I took my short stroke 750 down the street yesterday for an illegal trial run! Geared for 155mph, and it popped wheelies on the move, and no dipping the clutch to make it lift. It doesn't matter who made the head, if you get it properly gas flowed, then it works! By the way, it is a full race motor in a Seeley chassis, so a Commando frame might not wheelie as easily! :)

6061 T6 aluminum
All standard Commando valve train parts will fit.
Exhaust ports designed for a more efficient flow
Phosphor bronze valve guides
Valve seats compatible with unleaded fuels
10% lighter than a stock head
Due to material quality, head is far stronger than stock head
CNC machined, including combustion chambers to ensure identical volumes
Satin blasted external finish
½ inch valve guides
Pressure testing is part of the manufacturing process
Available for both 850cc and 750cc Commandos

6061 T6, Soft, but stable matl. at elivated temperatures.
I would replace the guides with cast iron, unless racing it.
Valve seats good, so are standard seats for unleaded.
CNC machined, I hope so. Don't want them angle ground do we.
Pressure testing, brilliant.
Cost, Wow.

I bought one of the last Norton heads in the early 80's, new, at a grand total of £20.00

I agree. The standard power characteristics are what makes a Commando great. But there's nothing wrong with more right through the rev range. I'm lovin' it!!!!

However, in the interests of research and development, my other bike, which should get it's new head shortly is a 920 with a PW3 cam and 36mm Pumper Dell'Ortos. Only because they were on it when I bought it but I think a set of Keihin 35 Flatslides are on the list. A couple of months away yet, but stay tuned.

I am committing this selfless act for the sake of you all so I hope you appreciate it. I dunno, the sacrifices I make.................
