I am not easily embarrased when it comes to my Norton knowledge - and lack thereof.
No trace of Jim Comstock genes here!

So I have been working on upgrades to the old beast and making good progress.
Persistent leaking of oil from multiple places started the project, and now it has taken on a life of it's own.
Renewing seals, replacing primary with a belt, oil tank and tranny redo, new sprockets & chain, etc. Even got a new paint job (thanks Brett!).

But... after sorting things in the primary, discovered a rather substantial part that is without a home.
Perhaps I replaced it and do not remember.
Perhaps it needs to be installed where it belongs.
Dunno... but here are pics.
It measures about 1 5/16" OD, 3/4" ID, and 1/2" thick. One side is clearly worn, the side with the recess looks good.

I found that spacer to be incompatible with my beltdrive conversion. Hopefully you have the dual gearbox adjuster or atleast relocated the single one to the primary side.

Yes - new gearbox adjuster has been installed on the drive side. :P

You might consider rotating the stator counterclockwise a bit. Edit: Upon closer inspection you seem to have it in the right spot, my bad.
