As photobucket shutting off free account images sharing on forums and a few folks interested, here's my tool of choice as quickest cycle ever fielded against over RIGID corner cripples that can't hardly put down any power where it matters most so try at all cost to avoid spinning rear to snatch trip downs into low sides for the hi side crash saves in gleeful refreshing thrills. Everyone on a too flexy isolastic or RIGID corner cripple, can only conceive straight line sprints use for Peels blown big block double power & torque on rather less mass, but its the WOT snaps at apexes over the ton to twist frame up to tolerate accelerating into and out of decreasing radii switch backs and raw off road antics in creeks and Mt ravines that motivate hobot's next Mz Peel. Not interested in social contact anymore, so will look at reactions w/o public response. There is only one type of motorsport craft that can give Peel any worthy competition, 1000 hp awd drive rally cars, but they hardly ever race down hill on THE Gravel as Peel sure did, so think can beat them too. Shooting for ~ 1 hp or 1 lbft torq per 4 lb total mas ... wet with ~ 1 gallon in OIF + 5 gallons in tank (prevents fuel slosh jerks) & a skinny pilot. Tri-links makes Pavement so conquered secure easy effort its too boring predicable, so Peel is fitted with knobbies to extra embarrass the hot shots on fatso bald race tires but mainly as more effective off road which is way more challenging thrilling to me, yet completely off radar of obnoxious Commando nay sayers. Ms Peel never had full street tyres on, so guess how much better she is than any thing else. Kind of hope/expect to die, quick, not like Weslty over a couple days, in some events but 5 min on a cycle like Peel is worth a life time of ordinary sluggish wheelie prone stupid trail braking corner cripples and bettter tham male single orgamis compared to the mutiple ones Peel delivered. How many cycles pilots mention resisting back out G forces but the rocket sled guys, I am very tolerant to G forces but had to use fighter pilot breath force to keep some tunnel vision/focus to aim into next G force spiker-roo. Again and Again. Flabbergastingly Faboulous to die for.

Wes took me to my first INOA rally and as we stopped at entrance, he said, "Its all about the Nortons". Then a few minutes later, newspaper reporter took our picture and quotes for front page local paper. Wesley was 63, I've made 65 orbits.

Good to see you back in the Norton section, I'll put the kettle on

Wow that was a refreshing read. I've missed you Steve and sorry to hear about Wes. I lost a very dear friend in writing partner recently also and it's not the same out there on the road without him, I understand your sadness. Anyway glad to hear from you, don't be a stranger.

Welcome back Steve. So you have joined the retired members section. I have been getting government assistance for a year now. Will be 66 in 2 days.
Sorry again to hear about Wes.
All the best.
Dereck

I'd been wondering where you have been hiding Steve. Don't be a stranger here(any more then usual)
Will you be going to the rally next week?
Ride On
Dave

Hey hobot; I too lost a very close friend younger than me a couple of months ago. Thought about it a bit, then shook it off. We all die once.

Get Peel done and let's see some beauty shots.

Might die too soon like all rest of my adventure companions but hope rather faster than John my light race boat and slalom ski companion, age 35 or Wesley 63, scaring me to follow, when in a huffy mood to get somewhere on his '71, in wet twisties, but more like my cub scout brother, Rusty, age 14 falling off w/o helmet on Tamiami Trail getting head run over, almost where another red neck close Fla. neighbor, left a burn-melt spot when a station wagon suddenly decided to switch lanes for a turn around for BBQ i worked at then. Tri-links don't need no sluggish steering damper crutch while twisting up frame by power steering to release like a spear gun for black out level orgasmic exists to die for. I seek the semi- Psychotic state of this early two belt Drouin on heavy sluggish stock 850 clunker weavy wobbler. Takes me ~3 yrs to get comfortably numb so maybe next news will be a shoot out with the best special semi-robotic corner cripples they can field by then. Acertel has enlightened me on Norton on methanol so even more need of Peel's air power hole shot device. If ya have to stay in more than a partial second of lean pressure in any turn so not to crash, then its a dangerous corner cripple that must stay stuck on rails with a cane crutch dampener. Pashaw. Extremely Jerky Ricochet Rabbit style rules my world on Peel and no one else in the world knows what they are missing out on yet...

YEEEEHHHAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just took the bike out for it's first run around the block. It runs
great! I have to wait for colder plugs or I would have never come home.
It takes a bit getting use to working the fuel shut off (of Lake Injector) but I am getting
the hang of it. Other than a little bit of fuel spill now and then it is a
great mod. The sound of the blower can be heard inside my fullface Shoie
helmet and over the boom of the Dunstall silencers. I still have to do some
polishing and replace one of my original leaking petcocks but this thing
is awesome. I have always wanted an 850 Commando and I never would have
even imagined I could have a supercharged one. I will send photos when it is
completed to my satisfaction but let me tell you this. I ride a nitrous
injected Honda 996 Superhawk as a daily ride and I have a few GP race
bikes but nothing, I repeat NOTHING!! stirs my soul like this setup. The only
other mod will be a steering damper because the bike lifts up in every
gear now and it upsets the steering and a gunfighter seat from Corbin to keep
me from sliding off the back of the bike when I twist the throttle. In
closing all I can say is YEEEEEHAWWWWWWWW!!!!
I'll keep you posted. Mike

Well Steve, things were happening so fast I was shifting at a perceived
5500rpm but it was spinning up so fast I bet it was more like 6000rpm by the
time the shift took place(a pause for huge grin here). I don't think you
need to spin it up more than that for the street. I would say Mr. Owen is
spot on at 6200rpm. I looked at the plugs and they look perfect. They were
cold plugs from my BSA. (N5C Champions). I may just have to take it out
again first thing now that I know everything is fine in the combustion
chamber. I won't be sleeping much tonight either because I can't wait to
jump on again and go for a blast and it's only 30 deg. here. I don't really
care if it is -30 deg I'm riding this baby.
YEEEEEEEEEHHHHAAAWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Wow. Coming back after a few years of absence and find that Hobot is still posting the same elusive prose. In many ways I'm happy to see it. On the other hand...
