“I’ll find the right one”

You could always go for another handbuilt British bike!

Motus...

Officially the ugliest bike in the world...?!?

Gotta feel sorry for anyone who bought one of them.
That is the shortest lifespan of any motorcycle company I can remember.
Wonder how many owners were stuck with an orphaned bike?

I really like the Beemer 1200 RT or I may officially go into retirement mode and get a new soft tail with a 114 motor. The Mrs. would like either since she still getting on the back of the old 140D. That just doesnt cut it on today's HP heavy highways. I like the dealership support on either. Go 5 miles in any direction and there a Harley dealership out here.

Didn’t like the long pipes I guess. :)

While it may have not been the best looking bike you gotta appreciate the effort. Where else can you buy bike parts at a Chevy parts counter?

Well, I gotta say that after my recent experience, it’d be the Motor Company that got my cash. I’ve not tried the 114 motor but the 107 is a real peach. I was REALLY surprised at the overall rideability, handling and braking included, of the 107 Heratige Softail I rode too. The Road King that I hired recently is way too heavy IMHO. The Softail is a great bike, HD allegedly engineered some ‘character’ back into it (read vibration) which I fully get, personally I’d go for the softail slim, or even the street bob (that’s the lightest bike with the new engine) I think they only come in a 107, but check out the Screaming Eagle stage 3 and 4 114 kits... you can’t fail to be tempted...!!

And I could not believe frame tubes welded together side by side ( below front of seat and middle of tank) - the production bikes have had a gusset added - a bit of a dog’s dinner in my book.

And... they are physically tiny.

I for one would look like I was riding some kind of unfinished mini moto...!

Now we're torqueing... ( I think somebody else used that phrase in the dim and distant)

I looked at the CCM's at last years NEC, the stand was busy but despite 3 visits, nobody could be arsed to help. Agree FE, they did look a bit small for the average 50+ male frame. Not saying you are average n all that, some would say above. I will stop there, you will be offended whichever compliment i try and pay. The weld marks are all the fashion though aren't they, like on the domi.

Are Hesketh still producing anything these days? I heard things were ‘troubled’...

Say it how it is man!

Take one six foot bloke, stiffen up the joints and frame, and a few kilos all over, then even more around the middle, cover in modern bulky armoured riding gear and place on spindly little motorcycle...

No way to replicate the 60s rocker look really is it?

The last few/several years I had been lusting after something special, maybe a Russ Mitchell Exile bike, was semi interested in the new brough but went off it at the NEC. For me the 961 fitted the bill perfectly. Had a spin today with second daughter, cafe visit of course.

Suppose you go to a sports bar on yours? not a good look getting off though with the stiff joints

I'm not sure to be honest. They have moved on from the original troubled bikes, and now use American S&S engines ( like Morgan), but I have to say I like them. (except the Sonnet) but i'm sure volumes are low.
