Impact to the front door would be another story...however it shows the importance of foot peg and body position in regards to how it can possibly help you clear a obstacle that may jump out in front of you in some cases...but not all unfortunately...

Motorcycle air pants... Not enough and too much at the same time? Foot is not protected. You can still get your foot taken off by a car coming toward you in a turn when one of you is in the wrong lane. Been at the scene of such a situation. Ruined the guy's life.

I wonder if the air pants would go off kick starting a Norton. lol
 
I thought this was a joke, so googled and they were real !

Just use bubble wrap and some tape cheap and when parked up you can burst the bubbles for a bit of amusement.
If you are so scared of riding to even think about air bag pants or anything like it, then maybe motorcycle riding is not for you.
Toughen up girls and pay attention on what is happening around you while riding, wear decent protection jackets, boots and what ever else you choose, fu cking air bags on for protection WTF!
