Motor to frame mounting question

Hi Folks.

I decided to start this new post due to the fact I have decided to stay strictly Norton versus building a Triton with my new project.

I have a 65 slimline frame, and have found a 500cc Dominator motor that I may be purchasing. If I am correct, and I get the correct mounting brackets to mount this motor into my frame....

A replica Manx may be on the way!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Bravo!!!
Not destroying 2 bikes to make a triton is good!!!!
But I remember the Manx as a single.,,, why not find a ES2 or an international??? Or a replica Manx engine?

I am not destroying 2 bikes... the frame I have was purchased by itself... nothing else came with it.

If I remember correctly, the Domi motor did pretty good prior to the establishment of the new 500cc short stroke motors and the feather bed frame. I have considered a single cylinder 500, but finding 1 has been extremely difficult. I have also looked at the "new" motors, but at 10K for a starting price that is way out of my league.

I know I will not have a true Manx, but I am wanting to stay with all Norton parts as much as possible.

Any other ideas would be great, or help finding a 500 single would be good too.

Thanks!

What about a modern single. I have seen some awesome stuff using a suzuki savage single, I belive it's a 650. I know the look might be off, but it would be a challenge to make it look old.

I need some help on motor identifcation. I have found a Norton 500cc twin cylinder, with 2 different sets of numbers. I am thinking it may be the top end from 1 motor, and the bottom end of another motor.

The bottom numbers are 12 and 27682, which is from a 1950 model 7. The top end numbers are C01594 and A75R; there are a few others I cannot read. I cannot identify these numbers... anyone have any ideas? :?

Thanks!
