The Norton Commando with peashooters at full tilt has to be somewhere near the top. :D

But click on the link below and listen to the beautiful sound of the MV Augusta 500, a straight 3 cylinder in line I believe, ridden by John Surtees. The MV Augusta music starts just after 4 mins in Wow  :?

Let it load, don't try and go straight in at 4 mins.

Yes I agree with all of these.

Plus the last year of the 990cc GP bikes, 2006 I think?
The Ducati and the Kawasaki.

And the Aprilia RS3 Superbike triple from the similar era.

my favorite exhauset note is the one I was listening to when I drove to work about a half an hour ago 8)

I woke up to a 40 degree morning (almost unheard of on Cape Cod in December.....) so I jumped out of bed, fired Strunzo up, and rolled down the national seashore! is don't get much better!!!!

My personal favourite note has the distinct honour of being performed by Sig. Conti of Pescara.

Not to forget a bevel with (what's that bacon smell, oh my legs on fire) Imola high pipes.

The Norton sounds ok from what I've experienced of it - idling in the shed, the driveway and once around the block. Have to reserve judgement on it until I've had a decent fang. The Megacycles on the TRX sound absolutely awesome, but at the end of the day the Pantah wins. I've got straight cut primaries on it (to cure the clutch slip issue) and together with the 2:1 exhaust and intake noise it all comes together just short of redline to make a most delicious symphony. Trouble then you have to change up - and do it again. And again. And...

1. My Norton
2. My friend's Ducatis - 2006 1000ds, and 1989 851 Superbike
3. Honda GB500 (Do I have to go home now?)
