Modify Dave Taylor Head steady

Has anyone used a Dave Taylor Head steady but instead of the 2 part clamp around the frame tube reversing the link and making a U shape bracket that w2ould be positively fastened to the lug each side where the original rubber bobbins attached to the frame?
Anyone see any problems doing this?

I saw something just like that very recently, but as I'm on this forum and at least three or four Norton/Commando/Britbike groups on fb, it could have been anywhere...

So far no one addressed your question except @grandpaul and he couldn't remember where he saw it.

A couple things, as long as you are confident that the DT headsteady isn't moving I probably wouldn't touch it. That being said I've always been surprised he didn't use those lugs.

Despite my advice not to touch it unless you know you have a problem there's a DT on the Interstate so next time I'm under the tank I'll take a look at it. And maybe touch it.
