Got a Cycle Gear shop near you? K&N 153. $13.99, no shipping cost. I'm betting most Norton owners change oil filters less than twice a year. That being the case, is price really a factor?

I guess I'll chime in. Here's my filter list.

Since there is no NAPA in my local town, I get the WIX filters, I use them in everything on the farm, they have to be ordered, but are still around $10 and I keep a few around. Only problem is they are white. I think I'm going to the WIX51032 next because of the 10 micron rating. The notes are from the WIX filter web page. I don't see any need for an adapter unless you want to buy off the shelf filters.

Got the NAPA PFI PS7013 chrome delivered today to the local NAPA store. About $10. It fits perfect. Thanks all for the information. I could do without the chrome. This will be the break in filter.

The K&N kn153 can be your next. 13.99 with free shipping right from K&N. Powder coated black with the 17mm nut welded to the butt. Simply the best and reasonable with top notch quality.

I get NAPA 1352 FIlters. The majority are MANN Filters in a NAPA box. MANN Makes supplies Mercedes and BMW with filters for assembly lines and for their OEM Filters sold ad dealers. Can't get a better filter and are available at any NAPA Store

Shameless plug, but I didn't know we were that hard to find

FRAM PH2839 available at commandospecialties.com / $10.95

If you LIKE your Norton, you will like the NAPA or the Fram.

I love my Norton and the kn153.

I do not consider an extra $3 as an overkill type of expense and I will surely compliment it with the Amsoil MCV.

Where's the passion?

I won't use Fram filters in any of my vehicles. It's all highly controversial of course (what isn't!) but there are all kinds of stories out there about Fram filter quality. Google "fram oil filter problems" and settle in for a long read.

Maybe it's all BS, but I don't feel like risking my engines to find out.

Yep, all it takes is one thread on the web; that's why I cut a Fram filter open and sure enough it didn't look like any of the "horror story" Fram filters. Metal caps inside and premium filter material, no cardboard etc.

There were some counterfeit filters out there a few years ago that started the whole Fram bashing thread, but it's like the dreaded "what oil should I be using" thread. It just never ends.

In any event I sell the Fram PH2839, I've used them for years on cars and bikes with no issues and it's what RGM supplies with their retrofit oil filter kit .

YMMV

..was used on some French Simca cars, and he, they are on every street corner, right?..

Simca cars may be a rarity these days , but Citroen 2CV is still very popular and uses the same filter ..

You don't see too many Citroens in this country. It's been 20 or 30 years since I've seen one.

Ah, a Citroen 2CV. Back in 1968, made a trip in one from San Jose to Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco and back. Returned with some samples of the, ahem, local culture. One of the funnest trips I've ever had.

MKIIA Oil filter (2011)
Lab do you know the sizes of the threads? I would like to buy one?

Damn, almost embarrassed again. Wrote a long reply to one of L.A.B's posts in this thread and just before posting, noticed that is from very long ago.

It will be M16-1.5 to M20-1.5 no doubt.
Even common Moto Guzzi oil filters fit the Norton filter unit.

I found it easier to make one to suit modern smaller oil filters with the M20 thread.

CNW have one the same or similar.
