I'm rebuilding a MK3 gearbox and found a new top gear advertised but my book has the part number 06-5954G the one for sale doesn't have the "G" , can anyone tell me if the gear is compatible or even what the G stands for?

"06-5954" entered into the British Spares NZ parts search, result: "GEAR,M/S,4TH,SLVE"
"06-5954G" result: "No Results Found"

I did notice that various part numbers in their list include an additional letter or number suffix, (A, T, N, C, X, 10,... etc.) and these appear to be their own stock identification code.
Since found out that the "G" is for genuine "P" is for pattern in the catalogue. Finally finished the MK3 and got it registered etc. still has a few issues to sort. Starts on the button and pulls like a 14 year old.
