Mk2 wiring help needed

On mine I have used the plug together multi contacts, the 9 way connectors on the RE switchgear mated with the loom measure around 16mm x 20 mm x 35 mmi n line with the cables. Elsewhere I have used Japanese style bullet connectors with the clear sleeving, they are much smaller than the Lucas style.
The only under tank connections I have are the front winkers and the coil, everything else connects within the headlight shell or at the relay assembly which also acts as the battery hold down bracket

The original British harness wire is 14 strands of/32 Standard Wire Gauge (0.0108"/0.27432mm). British wire was measured per strand same as metric not the bundle. Metric wire is slightly thicker than SWG.

British Wiring sells metric wire as far as I know "Comparable to 18 gauge AWG".
Standard Wire Gauge is no longer available as automotive wire so it can't be SWG.
"...made up of ___ strands of wire, each mesuring 0.030mm..."

How critical is it to your life - not at all to mine - you win, deleted!
Then don't make disparaging comments.
I thought we were having an interesting discussion about different wiring specifications, apparently not.
